CALAR DE CRUCES Y ERMITA DE SAN ISIDRO Y SAN CRISTÓBAL

To the east of the town, and north of Los Barrancos, is the highest point of the municipality: El Calar de Cruces. In this place the Hermitage of San Isidro and San Cristóbal is located, as well as the municipal water tank. Around them, a simple architecture has been developed in deep relationship with the environment and with the history of Almedina. We could almost say that the constructions dissolve in place until almost disappearing. It is on this hill where the pilgrimages of San Marcos, San Isidro and San Cristóbal are celebrated. At any time of the year you can rent one of the pilgrimage booths for dinner or to spend the day. Located under the Hermitage, from them the town of Almedina is framed. If we approach the water tank we will discover a viewpoint towards the north part, from where the orchards of La Dehesilla, a traditional irrigated area with old farmhouses and waterwheels, can be seen first. Secondly, we will appreciate almost all the towns that surround us (Villamanrique, La Torre de Juan Abad, Cózar, Infantes, Fuenllana, etc.) as well as La Cabeza del Buey, one of the highest points in the province of Ciudad Real.
