The festival of “Los Mayos” is a popular celebration of ancestral origins that is widespread in Castilla-La Mancha, especially in the province of Ciudad Real. Traditionally, the youths met on the night of April 30, welcoming the month of May and spring, to sing first to the patrons of each town, and then to the ladies walking the streets. Neighbors of Almedina continue with this tradition, the “Rondalla” sings the May to the Virgin, Death and Passion of Christ in the Church of Santa María, and perform a parade to the Ermita de los Remedios, where they sing to the Virgin.
