Paseo de las cruces, parque de la piscina and paseo marítimo

The growth area of the town, as it could not be otherwise, appears located to the northeast of Almedina, on a plateau known as Calar de Cruces. The articulation of the old town with this new urban area is carried out through series of parks, promenades and gardens, as well as various facilities such as the bus stop, the soccer field or the swimming pool.

In the park that appears next to the swimming pool diverse celebrations of the town take place, like the day of San Gregorio or the Virgin of the 15 of August and day of the Emigrant. During those days, the residents of Almedina prepare meals with friends and spent the day. From this pool park there are two walks: one towards the south and the other towards the northeast.

The first one goes towards a cliff from which you can see magnificent views of the Historical Center of Almedina, as well as Cerro de San Cristóbal, the “poli” and Sierra de Cazorla Mountains. Being limited by a white typical rail of the spanish maritime litoral, it is ironically known as Paseo Marítimo.

The second walk, which is called Paseo de las Cruces, measures 700 meters in length and heads towards the vegetable gardens of Dehesilla, on the Montiel road; as well as to the Hermitage of San Isidro and San Cristóbal, and the vegetable gardens of León, on the road to Santa Cruz de los Cáñamos.
